Lichtenstein Castle
Lichtenstein Castle in Hout Bay is one of Cape Town's most exciting Guest Houses. A replica of Schloss Lichtenstein in Southern Germany, the castle is situated on a privately owned mountainside surrounded by fynbos and affording breathtaking views of the bay and enfolding mountains. The main hall, with its carved beams, vaulted wooden ceiling and leaded stained-glass windows, is luxuriously furnished. Armour, original paintings, sculpture and antique furniture invite you to relax in a setting that is gracious and supremely comfortable. And for the stormy Cape winters, a vast fireplace will add to your contentment. The dining room seats 24 people at a period oak table lit by wrought iron chandeliers and flanked by hand carved oak sideboards. Frogg's Leap

Laid back comfort in the sun, sea and sand, where you either do nothing....... or everything... this is Frogg's Leap, a welcoming and stylish haven nestled above Hout Bay harbour.

This is were you can do it all, from swimming, cycling (resident mountain bikes in the shed). Hiking on the many trails meandering through our mountains. Horse riding on the beach, or falling in a heap reading a small library full of books and decadent magazines. Or maybe just leaving your footprints in the sand.

Joké and Steward's guesthouse, having been nominated the 5th best one in South Africa this year, maybe Armani inspired, but the elegant serenity of the house has more to do with the outlook of its well-travelled owners than it does with any specific design ethic.

Frogg's Leap is a laid-back plantation house with wonderful views and big verandahs full of colonial rattan furniture. All our rooms are en-suite with lazy ceiling fans, faded cottons, coffee & tea facilities and bar fridges and heavens forbid, Heating !!

Our breakfasts are buffet style taken inside at the long table or outside in the garden or on the great verandah.

There is an elevated pool with the beach and village within walking distance.
